Marc Werner has been amazing and has given us attention, service and care beyond what anyone could expect! He has been sensitive to my daughters' concerns about their spinal braces and has armed them with everything they need physically and mentally to be as successful as possible with their braces. I came to Long Island O & P after having problems with a previous O & P office that failed to meet my needs. I was very pleased and overjoyed at the level of attention Marc and his staff met me with. I had a very antiquated partial foot prosthesis that wasn’t meeting my day to day needs. After consulting with Marc and his staff they showed me the future in partial foot prosthetic devices and I was beyond thrilled to be in receipt of this new technology. On June 5, 2017 while training for a bicycle race, I was struck by a vehicle and rendered unconscious. From the accident I was airlifted to Stony Brook Hospital where I spent 8 days in the Surgical ICU with a host of serious injuries, including three broken vertebrae and displaced discs.
When I was transferred to the Westhampton Care Center for rehabilitation to begin physical therapy, I was fitted for a back brace by Marc Werner of Long Island Orthotics and Prosthetics. Just a day later Mr. Werner came to my room with the constructed brace, and invested more than an hour explaining its fit and dynamics.
After I expressed my gratitude for the time Mr. Werner took on a Friday evening, to not only explain the detail of the brace, but to learn about me as a patient and as a person, I asked for Mr. Werner's supervisor's information so that I could express my appreciation. Mr. Werner then elaborated humbly that he was the owner of the company, and spent even more time speaking with me. When Mr. Werner left my room that Friday, it was nearly 6 p.m.
As a result of the fit and support of the brace, I am able to do the physical therapy more effectively. I am truly grateful for the caring and professionalism from Mr. Werner, and will always remember the kindness and time he afforded me.

Our physical therapist referred our daughter to Marc and her initial visit was at her office in Ronkonkoma. Our first image of Marc was that he was professional, courteous, knowledgeable, and has a lot of patience. Overall it was a very good first impression. Our experience at Marc’s office was a positive one. His staff is kind and professional and his office is neat and clean. I’m impressed that my daughter was able to pick out a pattern for the brace. She was made to feel involved and special during the order process. Marc even went out of his way to put gloves on her while he was casting her. When we were first told that she needed braces, we thought they would be large, cumbersome and unattractive and that wasn’t the case. The braces have a wonderful custom fit that exceedsour expectations. When we needed adjustments to the braces, we were accommodated in a timely fashion, without any problems We also want to add that we're appreciative of the great referral we received to her current Pediatric Physiatric group through Marc and we're very grateful. We recommend LIO&P to anyone who has a child in need of bracing.
